Movin' Through The Mud (2025)

This observer documentary captures The MudBuddies, a hip hop dance group, who have put in tremendous effort in their dance practices for an upcoming performance on October, 2025 in Sacramento. Each practice is filled with hard work, dedication, and fun within their community. We will capture their creative process and discover the behind the scenes in preparation for an upcoming performance showcase.

During this process we filmed only one of their practices as our job was to strictly observe and record. As soon as we entered the studio, the dance group immediately started to warm-up which caused us to set-up quickly. We tried our best to get unique angles from both A and B cameras while following the subjects. This project was interesting to edit as we had to take in account of fan and music volume while the subjects speak. We also made sure the members had to sign a release form in order for consent to being filmed for our documentary.
