My family is part of a softball team called the Outlawz, formally known as the Raw Dogs and The Lockers. This includes my brother, father, cousins, and uncles. In 2023 , it was the first time my brother and cousins were part of the team. It took a lot of teamwork and practice with one another in order to get ready for the season.

I saw this as an opportunity to capture these moments through photography and make it a personal project. In order to capture these photos, I had to go to many of their late games as they played against other teams. As I took photos from behind the softball diamond and the sidelines, my brother color graded them in post-production.

 

This series is meant to show the relationships that the team has and highlight the focus that the younger ones have on playing softball. The relationships shown are special because the older uncles and fathers are teaching their younger nephews and sons their legacy of generational softball. I want my audience to recognize those relationships and see the players' focus and dedication to this sport.
